Digital Printing In Delhi
Digital printing refers to methods of printing from a digital based image directly to various media. It normally refers to professional printing where small-run jobs from desktop publishing and other digital sources are printed using large-format and/or high-volume laser or inkjet printers. Digital printing has a higher cost per page compared to traditional offset printing methods, but this price is usually offset by avoiding the cost of all the technical steps required to make printing plates. It also permits for on-demand printing, short turnaround time, and even a modification of the image used for each impression. The saving in the ever-growing capability of digital presses indicates that digital printing is reaching the point where it can match or supersede offset printing technology’s ability to generate larger print runs of numerous thousand sheets at a low price.
Process
In analog printing, the plates are frequently replaced, whereas processes, such as lithography, flexography, gravure, or letterpress in digital printing don’t require printing plates to be replaced. This results in lesser cost when using digital printing, but typically a loss of some fine-image detail by most commercial digital printing processes.
Applications
Digital printing has many benefits over traditional methods. Some applications of note include:
-
Desktop publishing – inexpensive home and office printing are only achievable because of digital processes that bypass the need for printing plates.

Variable data printing – utilises database-driven print files for the mass personalization of printed materials.
Fine art – archival digital printing methods involve real photo paper exposure prints and giclée prints on watercolour paper using pigment based inks.

Digital Printing In Large Format Printing
Our Machines inks systems use water as the main ingredient but the carrier for the pigments are either latex or resin-based (pigments are dissolved by resins in water instead of solvents). Inkjet printers that use these types of inks also need heaters built into the printer, so the media becomes receptive to the ink and also to allow the ink to dry properly.
Unlike solvent inks, the Digital ink has low-VOC emissions and low odor, avoiding the need of special ventilation.
PROS for graphics/advertising industry (Large Format Printing)
- Amazingly fast! If you are working within a tight deadline and just have to get it done, digital printing could be your soundest option.
- Less Expensive. If you have an economical quantity (fewer than 1000 pieces), digital printing is far more cost-effective than traditional offset printing.
- Exceptional Flexibility. inks come out of the printer fully dry and “ready-to-use” (compared to solvent inks which do not dry completely in 24 hours)
- Inks are eco-friendly. The water-based formulations of inks reduce the impact of printing on the environment.
- Offers color consistency. They produce durable printing for outdoor and indoor applications.
- Inks are odorless. Since the inks are water-based there is no need for extra ventilation to remove any harmful substances emanating from the printer.
- Printing provides flexible ink which helps in removing or cons of digital printing that print gets crack in making folds. It provides scratch resistant.
- Color Match:- Graphics Printing provides color match from first print to last print. However color mis match issue arrises earlier but with the help of new technology , digital printing have concurred the color mis-match problem in Graphics industry. But color match problem prevails in offset printing which provides you printing sizes like A3, A1, A0, 12”x18”; 13”x19” etc. this color match problem prevails in this type of small size printing.
- Digital Printing have earlier have Less material options but now Digital printing expands its limits, now digital printing offers wide range of printing like graphics vinyl, Wallpapers, Leathers , Soft Fabric , Fabric Printing, Glass Films (Customised Design Printing like own pictures) and many more.
CONS for Paper Printing Indusrty
- Unable to Color Match. Notwithstanding digital printing constantly improving, they, however, can’t match the colour quality of a traditional offset printer. Digital printers utilize a four colour process while traditional offset printers use the PMS and inks to deliver colour accuracy.
- Cracking in the Folds. Digital printer inks aren’t completely assimilated into the paper which means that cracks can appear in the colour along the edges when the piece is folded. This typically isn’t a difficulty in traditional offset printing.
- Less Material Options. Digital printing presses are swiftly catching up to offset presses in terms of what they can and can’t print on, but they’re not there yet. Conventional offset presses still offer a wider range of paper, ink and finish options.
- Further expensive in higher quantity print runs. While you may want a project fast, if you have a higher quantity (more than 2500 pieces), traditional offset pricing usually becomes more cost-effective.
